Following the Mayor's decision last year to approve the unpopular and controversial proposals to build 453 units in buildings up to 11 storeys high on the Manor Road Homebase site in North Sheen, final sign-off on the project is yet to be given.
The development must be reviewed against policies in the new London Plan. Local Conservatives believe this is the ideal opportunity for the Mayor to take on board the strength of local opposition to the plans and reject the application.
I wrote to the Mayor recently asking him to do just this. The new London Plan policy on tall buildings in local areas should alone be reason enough for him to reject - let alone inadequate transport provision.
